Find a parking spot close to Brock Street and then pick up a map at Sugar FX to start your journey through downtown Uxbridge where each shop window has been decorated to tell a Holiday story! Along the way enjoy “Tastings and Treats” for a Toonie, hear sounds of the season on the street with live music through the glass at Low’s Furniture (sponsored by Castool Tooling Systems), warm up by the fire (sponsored by Cobra Metal) and catch a wave from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Come early to enjoy a meal at one of our local eateries. On December 17 and 18, see “The Nutcracker” and “A Canadian Woodland Christmas” stories come to life in the windows of The Bridge Social and Blue Heron Books with little dancers from the Uxbridge Dance Academy and you can also hear hear award-winning author/illustrator Werner Zimmerman doing a live storybook reading of We Wish You a Merry Christmas!
Couple your visit with a drive through to the Optimist Fantasy of Lights or book tickets for a ride on the North Pole Light-up Express train hosted by York Durham Heritage Railway. If you can make it a full day, come early to explore the Holiday Market at Pefferlaw Creek Farms, and stay the night at one of our local bed and breakfasts.

On your journey, pick-up ‘Tastings and Treats’ for a Toonie”. Visit Sugar FX to see “What Christmas would be under the Sea” and pick-up a mini treasure box with goodies for a toonie. M.T. Hangers presents “A White Christmas with jewellery for a toonie. Find the Gingerbread Man at Holistic Salt Therapy & Cave and then see “T’was the Night Before Christmas” at The Lemonade Stand and find a lovely holiday ornament for a toonie. If you are on the Holiday Trail before 6pm, stop in a fig kitchen & market to fuel up and enjoy a mini-cookie for a toonie. See “A Canadian Family Christmas” at Presents Presents Presents and “A Canadian Woodland Christmas” at Blue Heron Books, where you can pick-up a mini story book for a toonie. The Bridge Social presents the classic story of “The Nutcracker” in their window with an organic fair trade coffee or sugar cookie for a toonie. Jillian’s is the spot for “High Quality Fashion on Brock”, and The Passionate Cook’s Essentials presents “A Few of My Favourite Things.” At Woods Clothing see an incredible window display for “Narnia: Age of Winter” and pick-up handmade gift tags for a toonie. At Low’s Furniture, enjoy the “Sounds of the Season” with live performances through their window and at Rutledge Jewellers see the windows of “Red and Silver” and grab a selfie at their festive outdoor display. Continue your journey to Preston Gallery where you can see an artistic depiction of “The Hockey Sweater” in the window and take-home an ornament to decorate for a toonie. Stop by H. Bee Architecture “Winter Cabin” for a wave from Santa and drop-off a gift card for Uxbridge Cares. Continue to the final destination on the “Trail”, The Second Wedge Brewing Co., for some “Festive Cheer” and a 5oz beer tasting for a toonie (restrictions apply).
To fuel up on you visit to Uxbridge, head to fig kitchen and market for a feature lunch on Fridays and Saturdays with holiday drinks and a mini-cookie for a toonie! Stop in at Wixan’s Bridge for a meal and a Santa photo from 11am to 3pm Saturdays and Sundays. (Dec 4-19) Warm-up with a holiday cocktail at Navarra’s Eatery, pick-up an organic coffee and sugar cookie from The Bridge Social, make reservations for a festive meal at TIN Restaurant, pre-order a box of a dozen holiday cookies or book ahead to enjoy dinner at the Urban Pantry. If you prefer to indulge in a local brew, visit the Second Wedge Brewing Company for a special 5 oz beer taster for a toonie, or stay-a-while to enjoy a full flight and live music on select days!
