A self-guided journey through Uxbridge, Leaskdale and Zephyr
Follow in the footsteps of the renowned author of “Anne of Green Gables”, as you listen along on your mobile device to a podcast about her life in the Uxbridge area from 1911 to 1926, through WWI and the first flu pandemic. Take a two hour drive through the countryside to some of her known haunts and make a detour to some local businesses along the way.
Always drive with caution and in accordance with traffic laws, ensuring you are parked and/or a passenger is operating your audio device.

Here Are Some Things You Can do Along the Trail
Book a tour and tea at the Leaskdale Manse, plan a detour to find some artistic treasures at Greenmantle Pottery and the Concession 6 Studio. Book an appointment or drop-in to the Uxbridge Historical Centre where you can tour buildings relevant to Maud and learn about her family’s war-time connection. We all know Maud (and Anne) had a taste for the Raspberry Cordial, and if you share that love, you too can satisfy your thirst at Banjo Cider or The Second Wedge Brewing Co. with a specially crafted raspberry cider or ‘High Razz’ beer, or head downtown to enjoy a glass of organic raspberry cordial at The Bridge Social. Take your time in downtown Uxbridge where our beloved Blue Heron Books has a host of activities in store for the kids: write a letter to your kindred spirit on custom Anne stationery, try a game of hopscotch, snap a selfie, pick up an Anne of Green Gables cookbook signed by Lucy Maud Montgomery’s granddaughter, and take home a free craft kit. Be sure to take time for a break along the Beer & Cider Trail, or re-fuel at one of our local eateries along the Culinary Trail.
