A Day in the Trail Capital of Canada!

A little dose of exercise, fresh air and nature makes any day great! Escape to the Trail Capital of Canada to embark on an outdoor trail adventure.  Enjoy a leisurely hike through the Countryside Preserve where you can enjoy the wildflowers, birds and pond life along the way.  Look for the nature paintings, interpretive ecology displays and explore over nine kilometres of trails.  There are also three kids’ loops mapped out to guide your journey, these loops were inspired by the frogs, butterflies and birds that inhabit the Preserve.

After you have worked up an appetite on the trails, a patio awaits!  Head downtown to enjoy lunch under an umbrella at one of Uxbridge’s local eateries. The Urban Pantry, TIN Restaurant, and Wixan’s Bridge are family friendly spots open all day.

Before you head home, grab a momento to take with you.  Uxbridge’s downtown shops offer a great selection of local products!  Pick-up a Trail Capital of Canada t-shirt at Blue Heron Books, indulge in an Uxbridge-made Desbarres chocolate bar at the Passionate Cook’s Essentials, or take home some locally-grown Foggy River tea from The Bridge Social.
