For those that have never raced or want a more laid back experience, there will be an Open Category on Saturday May 4th on the short track course, so come on out and give it a try! Register in advance or onsite day of the event.
Also on Saturday, we are shining the spotlight on female cyclists. Whether you’re an experienced racer or just dipping your toes into the world of mountain biking, these events are for you!
Girls in Cycling Chat with Molly Hurford (2 pm): At our Girls in Cycling chat, we’re here to talk about anything and everything. Confused about what to eat before a race? Nervous on start lines? Not sure about if you should wear underwear with your bike shorts? Stressed about finding other girls to ride with? We’ve got you. We’ll talk all things training, racing, nutrition, and life as a girl cyclist—and make some new friends!
Girls & Women Guided Rides (3-4 pm): Join us on a tour of the amazing trails at Woodnewton and connect, learn, and ride alongside fellow female cyclists!
About Molly Hurford: Molly is a writer + cyclist in love with all things cycling, running, nutrition and movement-related. When not biking or running, she’s probably writing about it. She also does some coaching with The Consummate Athlete and teaches yoga. She’s the author of multiple books including several nonfiction cycling books like Fuel Your Ride in addition to the Shred Girls series, middle-grade fiction all about girls on bikes. Most recently, she’s the founder of Strong Girl Publishing.
