An Art Lovers Adventure in Uxbridge

September is a great month for art enthusiasts to visit Uxbridge.  The Uxbridge Studio Tour weekend, coming September 19th and 20th, is the ultimate art lovers adventure.  You can book visits to the most hidden and intriguing artist studios and spend the day touring through the picturesque countryside.  This year 43 artists are inviting you to explore their work at 24 different studios, either indoors, outdoors, or online. Book your appointments ahead.

Along the way, you can stop in for some live music and locally made cider at one of our new cideries, Banjo Cider or Slabtown Cider Co., or if a hand-crafted beer is more to you taste, stop in at the Second Wedge Brewing Co.,  all are destinations along the Beer & Cider Trail.

If you have a break in your tour, make sure you take-in the art installations located on the self-guided art tours.  Whether you are walking through the downtown, or driving through the countryside on you way to another studio, there is art to discover.

When it’s time for a meal, whether you are looking for a quick bite to-go, or a relaxing dinner on a patio, the many stops along the Culinary Trail offer delicious menu offerings, and at this time of year, many of the ingredients come from our local farms and producers.

If your day allows, explore Uxbridge’s quaint downtown shops; Presents Presents Presents and Blue Barn Creative offer unique gifts and The Lemonade Stand has do-it-yourself kits to create your own art pieces.  Blue Heron Books always offers the latest good read and a Trail Capital of Canada souvenir t-shirt.  If you still have an appetite for art, Preston Gallery is filled with a great selection of pieces from various emerging and professional artists and the Artists of Uxbridge are hosting a month-long virtual show which you can easily explore when you are back home.
